The Unleashed Power of God in Worship
“ . . . for those who honor Me I will honor” (1 Samuel 2:30 NASB unless noted). This resource of power is gloriously displayed throughout the scriptures in both somewhat anticipated ways and in quite extraordinary moments. We’ve already looked at what I feel is the most amazing display of His power in worship – the experience of our Savior’s presence. But the Old and New Testaments are full of examples of God honoring those who worshiped Him with various expressions of His power.
In lesson 7 of Worship and the Word, I identify ten of God’s power-filled, transforming works in response to Bible-time worshipers: perspective, conviction, supplication, guidance, desire for heaven, spiritual transformation, encouragement, unity, evangelism, and help in battle. For the sake of our space here, let’s briefly look at two of these.
